Happy Anniversary

May 23, 2009 at 3:22 pm

I like to say “I love you” to my husband.  This weekend marks our 12th Anniversary.  I can’t believe we’ve been married that long.  I feel blessed being married to this kind, loving, and supportive man.  I must also add that he has a witty sense of humor-that I love.  I took this photograph of us earlier this year during our visit to Ventura County.  We stayed at the Westlake Village Inn www.westlakevillageinn.com.  The grounds at this location are absolutely perfect for a wedding or portrait session.  If you are planning an event at this location you will not be disappointed.

New York: Doug Gordon's Spring Blast

May 19, 2009 at 8:18 pm

Earlier this month I had the opportunity to learn from master photographer Doug Gordon.  Doug has the awesome talent of flow posing people in less time than it takes to microwave popcorn.  This was also my first time visiting the Big Apple.  I had sooo much fun!  We spent some time shooting in Long Island and in Times Square and during our free time we saw the Mets play in their brand new stadium.  Thanks Doug for this great learning experience.  Here are some of the images I captured during the workshop.

This weekend I met up with Jessica & Tyler.  They will be getting married next month.  I’m delighted to capture this moment for them for more than one reason.  When Tyler was a young teenager, my husband was his youth pastor.  During that time, we had a chance to see this teen mature into a young man.  I’m so glad to be part of this poignant moment in his life.  Thank you Tyler & Jessica and I can’t wait for your BIG day!

Mud Pots

April 8, 2009 at 6:15 pm

After our visit to Salvation Mountain we headed over to see the Salton Sea mud pots.  These mini mud volcanoes were fascinating to watch.  They bubble, gurgle, spew and spit.  The texture of the mud reminded of mud used in facials.  I felt like dabbing some on my face.  I’ve posted a pic and a video of a mud pot I found on youtube so you can see a mud pot’s bubbling action.Mud pot

Salvation Mountain

April 2, 2009 at 2:09 am

We took a day trip to visit a National Treasure, Salvation Mountain.  Salvation Mountain is located in Niland, CA about 1 & 1/2 hours from Palm Springs.  This mountain was built by hand using adobe and straw by Leonard Knight.  Leonard has been relentlessly working on this mountain for over 20 years.  To learn more about Leonard and Salvation Mountain check out the website www.salvationmountain.us.

Earlier this year, I took family portraits of the Richardson’s at the Oasis Resort in Palm Springs.  Their family had not taken a large family portrait in quite a while so I was excited to do this for them.  Here are a some pic’s  from our session.

I love taking maternity portraits.  I find that pregnant woman have a glow about them.  Gabi was definitely glowing.  She look absolutely beautiful with her pregnant belly.  I had so much fun during this session,  Gabi has such a  calmness to her.  Omar is hilarious.  He had me cracking up throughout the shoot.  Their baby is going to be blessed having them as parents.  I can’t wait to meet their bundle of joy.  Congrats Gabi & Omar!

I was delighted to photograph Norma  and Jorge’s wedding.  They had previously wed through the court and wanted to declare their love by getting married through the church.  Here are several of my favorite’s pics of that day.  Enjoy!
