This was the Zepeda’s first, yes first family portrait.  They shared that they have taken snapshots of the family but wanted a professional portrait that included their daughter and her family.  During their session we took some traditional family portraits but we also had some fun getting some other shots as well.  During the session, the eldest daughter said “I don’t remember family portraits being this way”.  I giggled because that exactly the experience I wanted them to remember.  I wanted them to experience something fun and memorable.  Hopefully, this won’t be their last family portrait.

Love Letter ~ Oceanside Photographer

June 25, 2010 at 4:47 am

Betty and Andy celebrated their 10th Wedding Anniversary at a ocean front home in beautiful Oceanside.  They each wrote a heart felt letter to one another and shared it in the presence of their family.  Their words were so moving, many tears of joy were shed by those surrounding them.  They culminated the love letter ceremony with a dinner reception catered by her father and a surprise serenade from Andy to his wife.  I felt so honored capturing this intimate moment.  Congratulations Betty and Andy on your marriage!  May you be blessed with many more years together.

Christina turned 15 and celebrated her day amongst her family and closest friends.  The ceremony took place at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Mecca.  The ceremony was followed by a reception at their family ranch.  For a glimpse of Christina’s Quinceñera check out the slideshow at the end of this post.  Enjoy!

Christina-Teen Session

June 24, 2010 at 7:28 pm

Christina turned 15.  Before her Quinceñera (blog post on this event will follow) we had a portrait session at Moorten’s Gardens and downtown Palm Springs in order to capture some images of Christina for her guest sign in book.  Here are some images from her session.

Here is a sample of the final product.  The guest sign-in album lays flat and is designed with empty space in order for your guest to leave a message.  At the Quincenera, I wanted to capture images of guests signing the album but Christina liked the album so much she didn’t want it to be written in.  That was such a great compliment.  Thank you Christina!

First I’d like to congratulate all 2010 High school Seniors!  Had had so much fun capturing some fabulous seniors this year.  Amber was one of them.  You probably remember Amber from a previous post.  She was my 2009-2010 Spokesmodel.  I’ll be posting more information about the Spokesmodel program for those incoming High School Seniors who are interested.  Check out her pics by clicking on the arrows.

I currently have a promotion for high schoolers that purchase their dress from Desert Bride.  Here are some stunning shots of Mandy in her dress purchased from the salon.  During our time together we also captured some senior portraits.  I encourage clients to include their interests into their session.  Mandy is a Mickey Mouse fan, loves to travel and read the bible so we included her loves into the session.  The end result was something cute, fun, and truly Mandy.

Angie is an high school senior and an aspiring photographer.  She has also been assisting me this year.  Thank you Angie!  For most photographers, being on the other side of the lens is different and sometimes uncomfortable.  We like to make them but not take them.  Even though Angie shared this with me, I think we captured some nice shots of her.  Congrats Angie and thanks again for all your help!

Elissa is a bright and lovely young women with aspirations of becoming a museum curator.  And might I add that she know how to dance.  During her session we headed to Oak Glen.  I absolutely love, love, love Oak Glen.  It’s a little bit of country about an hour away from the desert.  My family normally visits this area during our yearly family apple picking trip in the fall.  But, it has been years since I ‘ve seen it in the spring.  The trees were filled with fragrant apple blossoms, the grounds were lush and green, and wildflowers were in bloom.  I love Spring!  It was a beautiful backdrop for Elissa’s senior portraits. Also, during her session we visited Highland Springs Resort.  Check out their website www.hsresort.com.  In June, the resort will be hosting their Annual Lavender Festival.  I can’t wait!  Congratulations Elissa and may God Bless you on your new journey!

James celebrated his 40th birthday at one of my favorite venues in Palm Springs, the Viceroy.  He invited 20 of his closest friends for an evening of cocktails, conversation, and of course food.  One requirement he asked all his guests was to wear white in order to capture timeless photographs that would not be aged by the current wardrobe trends.  The result was an evening that was intimate, fresh, and fun.  Hope you had a fabulous birthday James!

Susan G. Komen Inland Empire held their first annual Survivor Brunch.  The event was held at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage.  It was such a lovely afternoon filled with great food, conversation, and a slew of raffled goodies donated by many local businesses.  I was honored to be asked to photograph the event and to be amongst the beautiful women who attended.
